DJ Funkshion Tributes – Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London in ’65.
Gaining an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished for their extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows, and became a leading band of the progressive rock genre.
Pink Floyd were founded by students Syd Barrett (guitar, lead vocals), Nick Mason (drums), Roger Waters (bass guitar, vocals), and Richard Wright (keyboards, vocals). Under Barrett’s leadership, they released two charting singles and a successful debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967).
Guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour joined in December 1967; Barrett left in April 1968 due to deteriorating mental health.
Waters became the primary lyricist and thematic leader, devising the concepts behind the band’s peak of critical and commercial success with the albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979).

The first track on my mix was never released like this before. It is a special version of 6 (short) parts of Frank Zappa’s “King Kong” (Uncle Meat Album) I made by myself.
I merged & edited these 6 (short) versions of Frank Zappa’s “King Kong” to a unique track that is available like this only on my mix. If you listen closely you can slightly hear 1 or 2 mergings I made.
Frank Vincent Zappa (December 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993) was an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and bandleader.
His work is characterized by nonconformity, free-form improvisation, sound experiments, musical virtuosity, and satire of American culture.

Erkin Koray – Yeralti Dortlusu
Erkin Koray’ın Yeraltı Dörtlüsü saykodelik zamanlarından 45’lik bir kaydı olan Meçhul; The doors’un ünlü The end şarkısı gibi basladigi ezgiyle biten ve yine onun gibi az ama öz sözle enstrumantal kismina (ve…) agirlik verilen uzun ve kasvetli bir sahaser olarak karşımıza çıkıyor.
Plağın b yüzü, aslında ve…isimli başlı başına bir çalışma değildir, 45liğe parça sığmadığı için 2.kısmı bölünmek suretiyle ve…ismiyle adlandırılmıştır.
Hani bu topraklardan 1970 yılında ”The End” gibi psikopat nasıl bir şey çıkabilirdi denirse tek adrestir, onun gibi tribal bir yolculuğa çıkarır, kah ud kısmı ile kah Erkin Koray’ın hisli söyleyişi ile bize bu topraklardan olduğunu da sonuna kadar hatırlatır. Underratedtır ama değerini bilen albüm şirketi tarafından, ABD’de çıkan albümüne bu şarkıyla açılışı ve albüm ismini layık görülmüştür.
Türkiye’de ise bir konserinde konser boyu istek şarkı olarak durmadan meçhul diye bağıran, diğer konserinde de ön saflarda tapınma hareketiyle meçhul diyen tiplerin olduğuna şahit oldum. Herkese ve her ruh haline hitap etmez ama işte o frekans yakalandığı an ve şarkı 45lik etiketindeki gibi yüksek sesle dinlendiğinde ud-gitar ve şarkının sonundaki Erkin Koray çigliklariyla baska bir boyuta tasinirsiniz.
70ler Anadolu Rock dönemi sarkilari için öyle olmasalar da söylenmesi aliskanlik haline gelmis sayko-delilik dedikleri iste aslinda tam da bu çiglik ve uçusan gitar sololari olsa gerek.

Daniel Miller’s Mute Records has been going for 35 years and is one of the few remaining indie labels started in the 70’s. Daniel inadvertently founded the label when he released his own production “T.V.O.D.” / “Warm Leatherette” under the name The Normal.
Here he reveals why he loves Krautrock and his favourite five albums from the genre to Classic Album Sundays.
